Following the presidential directive to re-open tertiary and higher institutions of learning, the Kagadi Institute of Science and Technology (KISTEC) students have reported to further continue with their studies.
The students reported on 1st November 2021. In a bid to curb the spread of covid-19, students have been ordered to strictly adhere to the covid-19 standard operating procedures. KISTEC Principal Ms. Asiimwe Sanyu said that no student is allowed in class without putting on a face mask. She added that handwashing facilities, sanitizers have been provided on campus and in Tutorial rooms.
She added that all the teaching staff have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
Meanwhile the academic registrar Mr. Mwinganiza Godfrey revealed that the Institute also has digital learning systems that enable students to continue learning even when they are off-campus. This reduces congestion and physical contact.
We have an e-learning platform which is populated with notes, video tutorials, and assignments. We also have an e-library that enables students to access a wealth of information anytime, anywhere. “ He added that capacity building for trainers has been done and they are able to effectively interact with digital systems.Said Mwinganiza
He however said very few students have managed to come with at least 30% of fees and this affects the smooth operation of the institute.
