The Kagadi Institute of Science and Technology (KISTEC) is currently hosting a vibrant and impactful Computer Holiday Program, with over 20 students actively undergoing hands-on digital skills training. The students come from a wide range of schools across Kagadi, Kibaale, Kikuube, and Kyenjojo districts, reflecting KISTEC\u2019s growing regional reach and commitment to inclusive skills development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the program, trainees acquire practical competencies through various short courses offered at KISTEC, including but not limited to Computer Applications, Graphics Design, Website Development, and Computer Networking. These skills are carefully designed to equip learners with the relevant digital knowledge needed to thrive in today\u2019s fast-changing, technology-driven world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training is already proving transformative. By gaining digital and vocational skills early, students are better positioned to catch up with the ongoing global digital transformation. More importantly, the program aligns perfectly with the new Uganda curriculum, which emphasizes the application of vocational skills, creativity, and the ability to solve real-life problems. As a result, participants are not only becoming more digitally literate but are also strengthening their academic performance and confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure quality learning outcomes, KISTEC exposes students to a comprehensive assessment system that includes both theory and practical evaluations. According to the KISTEC Principal, Mr. Twesige Mugisa, the institute employs modern and innovative methods to assess learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our students have done theory examinations both on paper and online using our e-learning platform. Through this system, learners are able to sit online tests and receive their results instantly. We have also subjected them to practical assessments, and we are optimistic that this training will positively impact their academic life forever. The skills they have gained will also enable them to perform better in the job market,\u201d<\/em> says Mr. Twesige.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The success of the program is already visible through real-life outcomes. Some students have gone beyond classroom practice to develop and host live projects. Alituha Pius, a Website Development student at KISTEC, successfully developed and hosted a website for Trinity Secondary School Mpeefu, which can be accessed at www.trinityssmpeefu.com.
This achievement stands as clear evidence that learners trained at KISTEC receive quality, relevant, and practical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Mr. Twesige Mugisa, the Computer Holiday Program will officially end on 7th February 2026. He has encouraged parents and guardians to take advantage of the upcoming February\u2013March intake by enrolling their children at KISTEC, where they can access quality, affordable, and skills-based education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to computer and digital programs, KISTEC also offers a wide range of other vocational courses, including Tailoring, Welding and Metal Works, Motorcycle Mechanics, Electrical Installation, Bricklaying and Concrete Practice, among others\u2014ensuring that every learner can find a skill path that matches their passion and future goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At KISTEC, learning goes beyond theory\u2014it is about building skills for life, work, and self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
