This course is aimed at producing Automotive Mechanics who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is trainee-centered and practical-based. It emphasizes the acquisition of skills by the trainees, through practical learning and execution of real-life projects.
At the end of the training, a student is able to
- Mabricate components and machine parts
- Maintain engines to good working condition
- Maintain the transmission and suspension systems of a vehicle
- Install, repair and maintain the electrical/electronic systems in a vehicle
- Prepare reports, budgets, and operation plans
- Promote and ensure the safety of workers and plant
- Initiate and manage small Business Enterprises
Course Duration:
The course goes for one year for those who have not completed and passed the Uganda Certificate of Education. These are assessed practically by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) under Modular Assessment Progam.
Applicants who have passed UCE with at least 5 passes can apply for this course and sit for National Examinations. This study for two years.
