The Kagadi Institute of Science and Technology (KISTEC) has acquired tools and equipment for skills training from Tools to Work, an organization in the Netherlands.  The tools and equipment are aimed at strengthening practical teaching and learning facilities at KISTEC.

The tools will enable KISTEC to achieve the following;

  • Reaching out to many youth, women, PWDs and other categories which in turn solve unemployment within Kagadi District and neighboring districts.
  • Women empowerment through skills development which enable them to start their own ventures and sustain their lives and those of their families.
  • Enhanced teaching and learning process leading to production of highly qualified graduates.
  • Continuous community engagement through carrying out joint projects in vocational and technical courses. This is possible through partnering with different workshops in training KISTEC students and also supplying the institute with training materials.
  • Contributing to government programmes especially “Skilling Uganda” where the government is focusing on equipping the youth and graduates with vocational skills.
  • Meaningfully contributing to the realization of the Uganda Vision 2040.

Among the Tools received include; Carpentry Tool Sets, Metal Work Tool Sets, Electrician Tool Sets, Welding Plants, Motovehicle Repair Tool Sets, Knitting Machines, Manual Tailoring Machines, Electrical Tailoring Machines among others.
