Kagadi Institute of Science and Technology (KISTEC) is a technical institute offering professional courses in Vocational, Science and Technology. KISTEC has positioned itself to provide students with hands-on skills that enable them to sustain themselves through starting up their own business. It is located along Kiraba Road, Kagadi Town Council, and Kagadi District-Western Uganda. The institute seeks to recruit suitable persons for the following positions.

Job Title: Principal

Duty Station: Kagadi

Core duties:

  • Be the overall accounting officer of the institution and ensure proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the institution’s financial resources
  • Plan, direct, coordinate and ensure effective implementation of the Institutions education programmes, students and staff activities within the limits set by Education authorities and the Board of Directors
  • Attend to human resource matters of the institution in conformity with the prevailing policies and statutory regulations
  • Initiate development projects for the institution and mobilize resources for their implementation
  • Ensure annual reviews and enrichment of the Institution’s curriculum and report on the same
  • Prepare progress and summary reports for presentation and submission to the Board of Directors and Ministry of Education
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other educational and industrial establishment.
  • Be the minute secretary to the Board of Governor’s meetings

Qualifications, experience, and skills required:

  • At least a first degree in Engineering or Education (Technical)
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Technical / Vocational Teacher Education is a must for persons with first degree in Engineering
  • Clear understanding of Vocational School management
  • Excellent management skills especially in the areas of finance and human resource
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Independent decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision – Computer literate

  • High and proven integrity levels

Job Title: ICT Tutor

Duty Station: Kagadi

Core Duties

  • Prepare lectures/Lesson plans on a semester and weekly basis;
  •  Conduct lectures according to the set timetable;
  •  Participate in setting, administering, and marking internal and external examinations;
  • Carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of trainees’ performance during the training;
  •  Supervise trainees during practical and fieldwork studies;
  •  Attend general staff meetings, panel, departmental, class, and committee meetings;
  •  Guide and counsel students;
  •  Participate in co-curricular activities and link the community with the College;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. A qualification in teaching is an added advantage
